The idea of ​​"rear muffler = volume, exhaust manifold = sound quality"

With the "Brilliant" exhaust system, we consider that "replacement of the rear muffler adjusts the volume and replacement of the exhaust manifold improves the sound quality". The reason is that the exhaust manifold located closest to the engine determines the sound quality.

Of course, if you change the rear muffler, the exhaust sound will change. However, the rear muffler is a silencer, and fundamental improvement in sound quality cannot be expected. Therefore, we propose that replaces not only the rear muffler (tailpiece) but also the whole exhaust manifold system.

An important point in producing exhaust manifolds is how to make exhaust gas flow smoothly. There are various factors such as pipe diameter, bending angle, and pipe length are intricately intertwined. To that end, it is indispensable not only to design according to the vehicle type and engine, but also to stack up fine processing.

Exhaust notes are determined not only by the flow of exhaust gas, but also by the explosion in the cylinder and the resulting vibration. Among them, vibration is an important factor, and the sound quality is greatly changed by canceling out or resonating this vibration. Actually, various factors such as the timing of intake and exhaust are related, so it is necessary to design all of them in a complex way. We constantly research and test to find the ideal sound quality.

Best pipe layout for engine

For example, V8 engines such as European cars are equipped with exhaust manifolds on the left and right banks. And depending on the model, it is not unusual for the exhaust manifolds on the left and right banks to be connected directly to the muffler without gathering. This only creates a 4 cylinder x 2 sound, not a true V8 sound. Therefore, the best pipe layout for the engine is constructed by collecting pipes from the left and right banks. This is just a simple example, but making such a vehicle or engine is also a feature of the "Brilliant" exhaust system.
